Here's what people are saying:

Caring for the Commons is needed now more than ever during this time of uncertainty. In Who's Caring for the Commons?, Ms. Fish provides a compelling framework for how we can all play a role in strengthening our communities by building social connectedness. Ms. Fish states "The only thing that ever made a difference is people", and I could not agree more. Caring for the Commons ignites hope for a better world by empowering all people - regardless of our background or where we live and work to be catalysts for change.
- Mary Ellen Lynch, M.Ed.
Great invitation to accept responsibility for our common resources …
consciousness raising assessment in the back, along with specific opportunities
to have an impact!

                                                                                                             - Barry Fleet

"It is very inspiring. It takes a huge problem and really brings it down to a manageable size.
I feel empowered."
                                                                                                              - Sarah D.

This is an amazing invitation to explore the part we can all play in the the healing
of the planet. On so many levels these authors have asked us to look at the world
with the eyes of what is possible while inviting us to contribute to the a world that
needs our heartfelt support to evolve into a creative culture that is benefiting all
life on the planet.”
                                                                                      - Susan Fox

A Simple Framework for Building the Caring Commons

Caring for the Commons is simple; before we put anything new into our world, we need to ask ourselves 4 simple questions:

  1. Is it good for me and is it good for the commons, now and in future generations?
  2. Does everybody win? If not, what adjustments can be made so everybody wins?
  3. Does it include everybody? If not what adjustments can be made?
  4. Are there any hidden costs? If so, how can they be turned into value?

Is it good for me and is it good for the commons (now and in future generations)? Breaking it down a bit, that means Is it good for me body, mind and soul? Does it nurture my spirit? Does it light me up from the inside? Does it bring out the best in me and others? Does it unite people or does it divide people? Is it sustainable for me?

Is it good for the commons? Does everybody win or does someone lose down the line? Does it kill someone else’s spirit? If it does, how can we shift that? How can we evolve that? How can we use our human creativity to change that so we can bring more people to life?
